I am trying to get the DVB-T2 function...Dear Annti,
I am trying to get the DVB-T2 functionality from a stick very similar to your one. The case looks identical apart from the printed description on it. It contains the RTL2832P, MN88473 but a R820T tuner instead of the R828D. At least I assume so. Its legend, if any is illegible. It is a 24 pin only chip and dmesg identifies it as a r820t. The stick identifies as 'Astrometa DVB-T2' and has the same USB bus vendor and device ID as your. I have tried 4 approaches.

(1) An unpatched 4.4.38 kernel

(2) The 4.4.38 kernel but with your media_build modules (built from git://linuxtv.org/media_build.git)

(3) An unpatched 4.9.9 kernel

(4) The 4.9.9 kernel but with your media_build modules

In all cases I never see a second demuxer interface (for the MN88473), just the RTL2832 for DVB-T). eg.

find /dev/dvb/ -ls
54724 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 60 Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/
54725 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 120 Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/adapter0
55334 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root video Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
54728 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root video Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0
54727 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root video Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
54726 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root video Feb 20 00:40 /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0

Here http://www.mklab.rhul.ac.uk/~tom/dvb-t/Astrometa_DVB-T2-kernel-4.9.9-anttis_media_build_kernel-modules-w_scan.lis is the start of the O/P from the w_scan utility.

This http://www.mklab.rhul.ac.uk/~tom/dvb-t/Astrometa_DVB-T2-kernel-4.9.9-anttis_media_build_kernel-modules-lsusb-vv.lis is the O/P of lsusb -vv and here is the text from dmesg http://www.mklab.rhul.ac.uk/~tom/dvb-t/Astrometa_DVB-T2-kernel-4.9.9-anttis_media_build_kernel-modules-dmesg.lis

Any thoughts?

Many Thanks
Tom Crane
Tom Cranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11097990397434031467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650955741964567102.post-24818058337182372052017-02-01T18:19:21.215+02:002017-02-01T18:19:21.215+02:00Hi.
