Trying the firmware extracted from latest driver CDs.

2. Verify driver functionality with M88RS2000 chipset datasheets and manuals, Montage origin sample code (Not linking here, meet me in #linuxtv next weeks if You and the users like to, one mailing list thread says something about unknown "purpose registers"?). Crosscheck by testing with windos.

3. Long duration USB disconnect errors tests (syslog, USB debug enabled).

4. Shield the case with aluminium foil, the pcb shield layer maybe insufficent against distortion from mobile phone relays, etc.

5. Exchange the M88RS2000 crystal, check aux circuit (supply voltage fading+noise, etc), maybe (design) fault.

6. There is multiple problems, both drivers and hardware. Biggest problem from the feature point of view is missing DVB-S2 support. It is also quite old device, end of life, and device vendor does not give any support for it. No bug fixes, no new drivers for upcoming Windows versions.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11247727327804062325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650955741964567102.post-89115409323683051102013-06-22T15:09:51.783+03:002013-06-22T15:09:51.783+03:00Nice effort, but it's typical EZCrAP quality m...Nice effort, but it's typical EZCrAP quality making more money by changing tuner design to such low quality M88RS2000 buggy firmware based chips and hiding for good reason under manufacturer unbacktrackable "DM04x" marketing label

developers can do not much about with a better driver

because the firmware is just crap and will never get fixed,
http://www.montage-tech.com/index.html (no support, no drivers, no firmware fixes)
windos and linux dvb users agree on this:

http://core.adriel.co.nz/USB_Satellite_TV#DM04_.28cheap_and_buggy.29
http://blog.thestateofme.com/2012/12/09/raspberry-pi-satellite-tv/

Although, SZFV has already dropped support for this crap in 2008(!)
http://www.szforwardvideo.com/support/Supp_19_7.html (dead download links),

some chinese Ebay crooks still want to rip non-english speaking consumers which cannot read the above test reports, off with prices up to 30 US$ for such electronic waste they throw in the U.S. with 0.01(!) cent Ebay auctions!

Don't buy this shit and feedback those seller gangs respectively and claim Ebay BP if You've already bought and suffer!

Has anyone got a device with the M88RS6000?
It has more pins
http://www.montage-tech.com/Product_RS6000.htm
so hopefully they dropped the failed firmware based design and this chip could maintain an acceptable quality by good (OSS) drivers.woprrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02234052457446044283noreply@blogger.com
